The Best Blanket EVER! (At least I think so!) ~Day #19 Review & Giveaway!

"Yay, it's here!"

"What the HECK is that?!" My husband asks, (as I pull out my new favorite blanket in the whole wide world).

"It's a Slanket!"

"A wha?"

"A Slanket."

"Ok, babe- whatever you say," was the response I got from him.

"Give it a week, I promise you'll be in love." All I got this time was him rolling his eyes as he walked into the kitchen for a cup of cocoa.

I, on the other hand, unfolded the ruby red slanket that I got, and snuggled on the couch and finished watching my favorite prime time sitcom. Immediately, I was hooked!

Despite Brian's initial "weirdness" with the Slanket, (and after he saw how snuggly Alex and I looked reading together, and how Abbie and I were comfortably watching Dora on Saturday morning), it wasn't long before he was sitting wearing my Slanket watching the weather channel and some male politic show in the recliner!

Made out of the softest, and warmest fleece, the Slanket is perfect for you and your children to do just about anything! Alex likes to use his while he reads in his room, because his arms are free to turn pages, scratch his head or whatever an almost 6 year old can come up with!

Not only is this product "absolutely splendid" (as per one of my dear girlfriends), the company is too. Right now, they are donating a percentage of their proceeds to help the fight against world poverty!

Want it?
Head over to Slanket and check out their products for adults and children. If you order something, be sure to mention that you saw the Slanket review at 4BabyAndMom!

  1. oh my gosh, these are so much fun!

first, we should definitely win them, because we WANT to look like Obi-Wan-Kenobi, plus we LOVE to snuggle up in covers and read or watch a movie. And it's cold here. Help us, please . . .

fact about the company--i like it that they contribute to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Doesn't really have anything to do with their product, but it does say something about the company.

  4. I would LOVE to snuggle with my son in one of these! It's so nice to see a company willing to give a percentage of your purchase to good causes! I like that!
I should win one b/c I live in a travel trailer and the cold just seeps in everywhere. My husband and I travel full time around the country and we have the opposite of body temps. He's hot, I'm cold. The air is on and I'm freezing. This would work out great if I won!
    Thanks

  7. I love that he created it while in college, after ripping apart a sleeping bag to stay warm. Also that his mom made him the first one!
I want to win this because I am always cold (especially when blogging on the computer!), and my oldest son is always lugging his blanket around. This would be better since he could 'wear' it around the house!

  10. It's great that Gary could turn his college "invention" into a wonderful business.

Although the winters aren't very long in my part of the world, I'm almost always colder than everyone else so a blanket with sleeves would be great even in mid-summer.

  13. I think the Slankets sound great! I love that it's a blanket, but you can still function in it, like while typing at the computer, or cooking, or holding one of my kids! I would love to have one of these sets for My kids and I to snuggle up and read books or watch a movie, or whatever! Thanks for the chance!

  28. I love the fact that the Slanket keeps you toasty warm while your hands are free to do whatever you want. I would just love one for my husband who's pretty seriously ill right now and he has to rest on the couch a lot and I'd hate for him to catch a chill. With this he could be warm yet be able to read for awhile. Thank you so much!

I'd use one to snuggle up and keep warm when we go to the drive in. How perfect would that be? My husband would probably snuggle up and chase me around like some weird blanket monster, I can see it now...

  34. It's nice that they donate part of their earnings and they have a great variety of colors to choose from. The chocolate and alaskan blue are my favorites

How very conscious of the plight of others,
I seek out making purchases from companies that have this philosophy,
    Compassion along with a product.

Thanks, and gracias for the giveaway...from my little world.

  37. Everyone behind the The Slanket is on the same level when it comes to life. Besides creating a product to make people comfortable and warm, our life goals are not to accumulate mansions, SUV's, expensive watches and closets just for shoes. What we want in life is to travel the world and experience all its cultures while representing humanity positively. Whether surfing in Costa Rica, snowboarding in Austria, or studying language in South America and China, we love to spread our sleeves and let them flap in the wind, giving back in the process. BUT... there is nothing like coming home, wrapping up in THE SLANKET on your own couch and feeling the warmth of your friends and family.

I would love to win because, in our family, we love to cuddle up and watch great movies - this would be great for that!

  49. There was an error when I posted my comment so I hope it works this time & doesn't show up twice.

Something interesting about the company is that the founder & employees are not in it to get rich, but rather to travel the world & help people in other countries.

We would love to win the slankets because we've had to turn our heat way down this year due to heating costs (during what has turned out to be the coldest, snowiest winter). Our family room gets really cold & it would be great to have these so I could snuggle up on the couch with my daughter.

    Thanks for the opportunity,

  57. I like that they donate to charity especially breast cancer research. This would be perfect since we keep the heat down to try to save on those heating bills. And this winter seems both long and cold. We always use blankets or afghans but this would be perfect keeping us covered but keeping hands free for working at the laptop or those craft projects.

  58. Hello! My sons have been asking for one of these Slankets' since before Christmas. I like how they were created by the college student who ripped the holes in his/her sleeping bag and then asked his/her mother to sew one! Desperate times call for desperate measures!!!!!
I like the idea of sitting with my sons and husband in our Slankets all warm and toasty. We could read, enjoy hot chocolate, etc. We also are trying to help the environment by keeping the thermostat turned down which makes our home a bit chilly. Please enter me in your fabulous giveaway drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

  60. I learned that the slanket is 65x90. This is terrific, most blankets are too short, no matter how you try to get comfy either your arms or your feet are cold. Glad Slanket is so long.
We could use these at our house as we are keeping the thermostat turned back. We have to save energy, and money.
    Thanks for hosting the giveaway
