Happy National French Fry Day!

Did you know tomorrow was National French Fry Day? Here's some food for thought..

In honor of National French Fry Day -July 13- Wendy’s examined the growing phenomenon of dipsters, those who dip their fries into a Wendy’s Frosty.

The combination of the sweet cold Wendy’s Frosty and sea salt hot French fries trend is on the rise—in fact, a recent national survey revealed that 1 in 3 Americans (33%) have dipped a French fry into a Wendy’s Frosty. And more than 263,000 people online are talking about this!

The survey also found:

· Dipsters are typically young and hip! Two times as many 18 – 34-year-olds dip their French fries in a Wendy’s Frosty versus 45 – 64-year-olds.

· Families have jumped on the dipster wagon—nearly one of every two families (47%) have plunged their fry into a Frosty.

· Women are as likely to dip their fry into a Wendy’s Frosty as more traditional condiments like mustard, while 18 – 24-year-olds are more than twice as likely to dip their fry into a Wendy’s Frosty versus mustard, mayo or vinegar.

What do you dip your fries in??? Alex likes to dip his fries in his frosty, but I much rather regular ol' ketchup! Happy National French Fry Day!

Wendy's New Spicy Chicken Nuggets Review

I was recently asked if I wanted to review Wendy's new Spicy Chicken Nuggets, and was sent a $5 gift card to go and try them. My family loves the regular chicken nuggets, and I love the spicy chicken sandwich, so I jumped at the opportunity.

The Spicy Chicken Nuggets are on the Value Menu- and for only 99 cents- which is cheaper than their regular chicken nuggets at $1.19. (These are the prices at my location, prices may vary by location.)

The new Spicy Chicken Nuggets are made with 100% white meat chicken, and tastes just like the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. They're coated with Japanese style breadcrumbs and packed with a potent array of spices like red pepper, chili pepper, turmeric, paprika and ground mustard seed. You can see the seasoning in the breading! You can choose your favorite flavor dunking sauce, or stick to traditional ketchup like I do.

For 99 cents, these nuggets are a great deal and a great spin on a traditional menu item. Overall, I am definitely pleased with these nuggets.

I was provided a $5 gift card to Wendy's to try this product.

Wendy's Boneless Chicken Wings Review

When our family grabs fast food, we generally choose Wendy's because we feel that the quality and value is much greater than at other fast food restaurants.

We are wing lovers, and were disappointed to hear that our local wing store had recently shut down. Shortly thereafter, my husband and I were elated to hear that Wendy's launched their new boneless chicken wings. These boneless wings are made with 100% whole chicken breast that are hand tossed in one of three sophisticated flavors: Bold Buffalo, Honey BBQ, and Sweet & Spicy Asian Chicken.

Thanks to Mom Central, we had the opportunity to try the new wings for ourselves, and tell you what we think! Brian ordered the Sweet & Spicy Asian Chicken wings, and I ordered the Bold Buffalo.

The pro's: The portion was a great snacking size, or paired with a side salad and a bottled water, a delicious meal! The Bold Buffalo flavor was great- not too hot, but definitely not too weak and super tender! The Sweet & Spicy Asian wings were very flavorful- Brian called them "zesty".

The con's: Bri thought the Sweet & Spicy wings were a little too greasy, and the Bold Buffalo wings I felt should have had a little more sauce on them. (We had given them both another try at a later date, (from a different store) and both of them were much better the second time around.. and super addictive!!)

The verdict: Definitely something to try if you like boneless wings, especially boneless wings on the go! Next time the crave hits, I'm sure we'll head back to Wendy's!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog and giveaway campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Wendy’s and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
