Crayola Chuck Taylors=A Dream Come True + $150 Giveaway! Ends 8/25

Back to school shoe shopping has been the bane of my existence recently. My daughter, who is nine, has some fashion ideas of her own this year and has been whining all summer. You see, she wanted Converse High Tops—but not just any high top. She wanted the ones that go all the way up to your knee. I told her that her father would never allow her to wear knee high sneakers, and certainly not for school. She insisted that they were all she wanted. She asked her father for high tops and he said, ”Sure, every kid should have a pair of All-Stars.” She then got very excited yelling to me that “Daddy said yes!” Well played, daughter of mine!
He got “ the look” as I sent him a picture of the shoes she wanted. After a look at them,he said absolutely not! “I thought she wanted a standard pair of high tops!” She was once again devastated. She even drew me a picture with a note the begged for them. I was not budging though, as those high tops were just a bit too high for my 9 year old.
Then, the greatest thing happened! We received a pair of Crayola Converse All Star’s (Chuck Taylors!) to review from Kid’s Foot Locker! I cannot begin to thank them enough! Not only did they save me from another argument with my daughter, but they also supplied me with a fantastic pair of kicks to kick off the school year.
The Crayola line of shoes by Converse is super cute! The Crayola crayon trademark is all over the shoes, but is also very subtle! Her pair are yellow, and just like a crayon—it says so on the bottom. The shoes come with a fold-able layer that changes to grey for a new look. I have always been a fan of Converse sneakers; I grew up wearing All-Stars in every color and am glad to be passing the tradition to my children. My daughter fell completely in love with her YELLOW (her favorite color) high tops and proclaimed they were, “Just what she always wanted!” She loves that they have Crayola details and thinks they are, “So AWESOME!” The shoes are made extremely well and are very comfortable. Mia is very excited to start the new year with them.
Thank you again Kids Foot Locker for the opportunity to review these fabulous sneakers, but also for saving me from the tantrums of a nine year old.
In celebration of Back to School our friends at Kids Foot Locker are giving us $150 in gift cards to giveaway to ONE lucky reader! Kids Foot Locker Makes Little Kids Big Stars +$50 GC Giveaway!

This year your pre-schooler will look adorable in some Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers (available in low or high-top styles) and other brightly colored sneakers from your favorite brands. Kids Foot Locker carries Nike, Reebok, Adidas, and Timberland- to name a few.

Whether your child is in Infant sizes (1-3), Toddler (2-10), Little Kids (10.5-3), or Big Kids (3.5-7), Kids Foot Locker has something for every child.
Our nearest Kids Foot Locker is almost 30 miles away, but I recently popped in there to see what was on shelves. The associate was very nice, offering to appropriately size both of the kids, and find the perfect back to school shoes.

I was surprised to learn that Abbie is in a 13 now, and Alex is in a Big Kids 7. When the heck did that happen!? They grow so quick, and having the right shoes to grow in are even better.

What did we pick out for our kids? Abbie fell in love with a cute pair of pink and white Nikes with an iridescent swoosh, but unfortunately, they didn't have them and couldn't order them, in her size. We decided to hold off on her sneakers and work on Alex. He picked these super cool Reebok ZigActivate Big Kids sneakers.

Right now, Kids Foot Locker is running a great Back to School Sale, and offering free shipping on purchases over $50! While at check-out, enter coupon code IP222835 to take advantage of this great offer.

Our friends at Kids Foot Locker have supplied us with multiple Gift Cards to giveaway in celebration of our Back to School Bash, and for that we are VERY thankful. All opinions in this post, are strictly my own, and my choice to purchase shoes was not influenced by the company in any way.

To kick off our Back to School Bash, we are offering TWO lucky readers their chance to win a $50 Gift Card to Kids Foot Locker!

Kids Foot Locker New Year $50 GC Giveaway...Wait, Are Those Muppet Sneakers?!

Banamana! I love the Muppets. Always have. When I got a Happy Holidays email from our friends at Kids Foot Locker, I knew that I had to share these SUPER cute Muppets inspired Adidas with you all!

Unfortunately, they are only available in Kermit (shown above), Fozzy, Gonzo, and Animal, and only in kids sizes. Oh the shame!

BUT, that doesn't mean that the kids can't properly rock these sneaks!! During the school break, the kids want me to take them to see the new muppet movie. I can't wait. Our kids have always known who the muppets are- we're old school parents who bought old videos from Amazon and Ebay, so our kids grow up with cartoons that we enjoyed when we were little. They know who Rainbow Brite is and the original Underdog, as well as Tom & Jerry. They've been playing the Muppets Party Cruise on our Wii (via a game cube game we got off of Ebay for super cheap) since we got our Wii! Needless to say, I think that might be our one splurge over the vacation.

I personally love the Kermit Adidas best, the Animal ones are awesome, too, but they're high tops. I never really was a fan of high tops. I wish the Fozzy ones weren't pink- Miss Piggy is strictly pink. Or red. But the Gonzo the Great sneakers are flippin' adorable!!

These sneakers come from Toddlers sizes through Little Kids sizes and run from $38 to $65. Although the larger sizes are a little more expensive, our friends at Kids Foot Locker have offered us $50 in gift certificates for our readers to win!

Not interested in the bold Muppets colors? That's ok. Kids Foot Locker has a ton of shoes for kids from infant through Big Kids size 7. Kids Foot Locker gift cards are valid at any Foot Locker family store, including Ladies Foot Locker and regular Foot Locker locations.

Kids Foot Locker always carries the latest and greatest products, like the Reebok Zig sneakers, the Adidas Muppets Sneakers, as well as Nike, Jordan and more! Plus, right now you can get free shipping on any purchase of $50 or more using coupon code IP22VR54 at the checkout!

Kids Foot Locker Nike Shox Review + $50 GC Giveaway and FREE SHIPPING Code!

Looking for some cute new kicks for the kids this summer? Kids Foot Locker has a whole new line of kids sneakers that are sure to please the little ones, and you! We were recently sent a pair of the new girls Nike Air Shox--and they are unbelievable. They are white leather with pink shox and a holographic swoosh. My daughter wore them to school and her friend thought they were so awesome she told her mom she wanted them. Her mother stopped us at the school to see the new shoes (we are friends, she isn't a random classmate) and her only question was, "Do those come in adult sizes?" I laughed and said "I sure hope so because I want a pair too!"

My daughter's review was, "They feel like they massage my feet when I wear them. It's like I'm running on pillows." She is also impressed that the "shox" add an inch to her height, she believes this will be her breakthrough to getting on the big roller coasters at the amusement parks this summer. For a leather running shoe, these are surprisingly lightweight and seem like the perfect shoe for active summer fun. My daughter loves them and wears them everywhere!

Want a new pair of shoes for the kids this summer? Visit Kids Foot Locker now to see the great selection of sneakers for kids of all ages. Kids Nike Shox come in sizes ranging from "Toddler" through "Big Kids", for both boys and girls. And of course the parents out there that want a pair too can check out Foot Locker for their selection of Men's and Women's styles.

Now for the awesome news.. Not only did my daughter get to try a pair out, (and be one of the first kids at school to have these amazing shoes), but our friends at Kids Foot Locker have offered a $50 gift card to one lucky winner to use towards a pair of new sneaks this summer!  Plus, save even more with FREE SHIPPING on your purchase of $50 or more using the promo code: IP22V65N at the checkout. Hurry, because this offer ends soon!

Here's How to WIN!
Visit Kids Foot Locker and tell me which pair of sneakers you would use the $50 gift card towards. Be specific, tell me why you like those kicks, too. Please leave your email in your comment, if it's not in your blogger profile.

Sparkle Faux's: Save some Money on Shoes this Fall

Back-To-School time is expensive enough without having to figure in the trendiest accessories of the season. My daughter is 7, and like most girls her age, she's head over heels for Sketcher's shoes. Last year, she had to have HyDee High-Tops! She finally wore me down; after she brought home a great report card, I bought her a pair of these high dollar high tops as a reward. Of course, she did what every kid does when you buy them some expensive new duds--outgrew them in the blink of an eye. Farewell, $49.99 shoes.

When school shopping commenced this year, I was informed by my daughter that the new "it" shoe from Sketcher's was the "Twinkle Toes" and she HAD to have a pair. These shoes are adorable; they are covered in every kind of bling imaginable. I understand her want--if I could get away with wearing them, I would! But after the high top fiasco, I can't see myself spending that kind of money on a fashion shoe knowing she's going to outgrow them the moment I shell out the money. (These shoes run between $39.99-$54.99)

I had an epiphany while looking at these in the store--I can make these! (or something close enough to be acceptable to my daughter!) I have acrylic paints, buttons, and brushes in my craft box!! So, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a pair of $3 plain blue sneakers and went to town!

I painted random things like peace signs, arts, and rainbows, with acrylic paints and outlined with a colored Sharpie marker. Then I applied glitter stars and button hearts using fabric glue. They turned out adorable and my daughter LOVES them. All of her friends think they are adorable too!

So, if you're little dolls want some "Twinkle Toes", and you're crafty, why not make some "Sparkle Fauxs" and save a few bucks? :)

Tie Buddies Encourages Kids to Tie Shoes Easily *Review + Giveaway*

Abbigaile is going to Pre-School this year. She will be there all day long, and for the most part I was ok with it until I bought her her book-bag earlier this week. I can't believe my baby is going to school full time. I'm nervous, and excited all at the same time. I may be blowing up Facebook and Twitter next week ridiculously with "OMG my baby is in school" posts.. please just offer me some love and encouragement. It really takes a village sometimes.

Along with all of her back to school supplies, I've purchased her several pairs of shoes, one of which has "real" laces. I must admit, I'm really frustrated that most of the kids shoes on the market right now don't have laces. I firmly believe that it is super important for children to learn how to tie their shoes. Not only to help develop their fine motor skills, but problem solving, and patience, as well.

When Alex was in preschool, he couldn't tie his shoes if I paid him. I wish I knew about Tie Buddies back then, and I am so excited that I've been introduced to them this year!

Invented by a mom, Tie Buddies are these great little squares that attach to shoe laces to encourage little fingers (and minds!) to learn to tie their shoes all by themselves.

Available in both girl and boy colors, Tie Buddies are as appealing to kids as they are parents. In fact, anything that can help with the frustrations of learning to tie shoelaces, is very appealing to parents.

I received our sample to review at the beginning of this summer, and to be honest, Abbigaile wanted nothing to do with them, or her laced shoes. With summer in full force in Florida, she began wearing slide-on's and flip flops almost constantly.. so I waited for when I thought she might be ready to try it again. One of the pairs of shoes she got for back to school has laces, so I was eager to see how she would do.

She has taken to the laced shoes much better than she did earlier this summer, but I'm still trying to encourage her to tie her shoes with her Tie Buddies. At only 4, she's insisting that I do it.. and I will, but every time I offer for her to try. I have a feeling that very soon she will want to try it on her own because I catch her playing with her laced shoes while they're on the shoe rack, attempting to tie them without anyone looking.

I think that for a child in kindergarten, or a child who really wants to learn how to tie their shoes, Tie Buddies would be a great product for them. I do like how Tie Buddies work, and the fairy and magic wand on the tabs themselves. I really think that when she's ready, that Tie Buddies will really help her out.

Our friends at Tie Buddies have offered a package of Tie Buddies to one lucky reader!

This giveaway is open to residents of the US. This giveaway will end on August 21, 2010 at 11:59pm EST. The winner will be chosen using Random.org, and all winner information will be posted on our WINNERS PAGE and on this post. Any unclaimed prizes will be redrawn accordingly and at the discretion of 4BabyAndMom. This product was provided to me at no cost by Tie Buddies to review. As always, what you have read is strictly the opinion of 4BabyAndMom. Your opinions may differ.

    CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER!

Please refer to our WINNERS PAGE for more information on how to claim your prize.
