You are Special- Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood ft. Jason Mraz

This Valentine’s Day, multi-Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum pop artist Jason Mraz brings his signature sound to the hit television series for preschoolers, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood! “You Are Special,” an all-new episode of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood premieres nationally on PBS KIDS, Thursday, February 14 (check local listings).

Children’s television visionary Fred Rogers has long been an inspiration to Mraz, who even performs the theme from the beloved Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood at some of his concerts. Now, with the upcoming special episode of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Mraz will help bring Rogers’ timely message of love and acceptance to a new generation of preschoolers and families nationwide! The world-renowned musician has recorded the opening and closing tunes – “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” and “It’s Such a Good Feeling” – classic songs penned and originally performed by Rogers himself. The (very lovable!) episode also features a sweet strategy for young viewers, one that was near and dear to Rogers’ own heart: “I like you just the way you are.”

Share the love and celebrate the important message of this extra-adorable show with the little ones in your life via these fun tips inspired by Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and the new episode, “You Are Special”:
  • Make a Valentine! Help your child create a very special Valentine for a very special someone who is important to them. It can be a relative, teacher, friend - or another “neighbor” who they care about. Be sure to include what makes that person so wonderful!
  • Sing a Song! Daniel Tiger loves to sing songs! Have your child write their own lyrics to the classic “You are Special” tune and invite them to sing it to an extra-special friend or relative
  • Take a Valentine’s Day Walk! Stroll through your own neighborhood just like Daniel and Dad do together in the new episode, stopping to say “hello” to all the neighbors and friends you meet along the way
  • Create a “You Are Special” List! Think about it together and write down some of the unique things that make each family member or friend so special and lovable
Don’t forget to tune-in to “You Are Special”! Watching this endearing episode of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is the perfect way for preschoolers and families to celebrate the Valentine’s Day holiday together.

Sea World Orlando Embarks on Epic Voyage

SeaWorld Orlando kicks off its “Epic Voyage” campaign in New York City to launch Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, the park’s all-new, largest-ever attraction opening this spring. The campaign includes stops in seven cities and a new mobile app, both designed to give families a sneak peek into the new attraction’s thrilling and chilling adventure in ways as amazing as the continent itself.

SeaWorld Orlando’s new attraction, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin will transport families into a rarely seen, icy world. They’ll feel the majestic grandeur of the South Pole and see it through the penguins’ eyes on an exhilarating, first-of-its-kind family ride. They’ll explore a massive penguin colony in an expanse that envelops them in cool extremes, both above and below the penguins’ icy world.  It’s a must-see, one-of-a-kind theme park experience only at SeaWorld in Orlando.

In select cities, SeaWorld’s “Epic Voyage” takes over malls and consumer travel shows with a unique family experience filled with a massive ice dome, interactive virtual reality, shareable photo opportunities, chances to win incredible prizes by playing Antarctica-themed games, and, of course, live penguins.  Coca-Cola Freestyle machines will also be part of the experience on site to quench the thirst of attendees with complimentary, refreshing drinks.

SeaWorld street teams will roam the cities in wrapped, Antarctic-themed Hyundai Santa Fes and Sonata Hybrids as they mingle with the locals at various hot spots, commuter stations and key landmarks.  The street team will test the locals with trivia, hand out prizes and allow them to escape to Antarctica through the augmented reality videos that can be shared with family and friends.

While the “Epic Voyage” tour takes over a few key cities, SeaWorld’s made sure everyone can follow the freeze. An all-new mobile app allows fans the world over to put themselves in the action … plus interactive elements to share with friends. From behind-the-scenes teaser videos and tour details to penguin fun facts and trivia, consumers can immerse themselves virtually into Antarctica through augmented reality and also enter the Family Voyage Sweepstakes. The app -- SeaWorld’s Antarctica -- is available for download today on iPhone/iPad and is coming soon for Android devices.
"Since Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin was announced in November 2011, we’ve been planning and looking forward to bringing a glimpse of the attraction to these key markets to connect with our fans and let them feel the chill,” said Vice President of Marketing and Sales for SeaWorld Parks and Resorts Orlando Toni Caracciolo.
Anyone can enter to win the trip of a lifetime with the Family Voyage Sweepstakes. Two lucky families will receive a 4-day, 3-night journey to SeaWorld Orlando to be one of the first to experience Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. Italian Pork Tenderloin w/Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Holy yum! I stumbled across this recipe from Pillsbury in my inbox today, and I had to share. We've been on a big sweet potato kick at our house, and any new way I can get the kids to eat it, makes me a happy mom!

Ingredients:
Vegetables-
1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 clove garlic, finely chopped (about 1/2 teaspoon)
2 medium dark-orange sweet potatoes (about 1 lb), peeled, cut into 1-inch chunks
1 medium yellow onion, cut into 8 wedges each

Pork-
1 pork tenderloin (about 1 lb)
1/2 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, if desired

Heat oven to 425°F. In large bowl, mix 1 tablespoon oil, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/4 teaspoon salt and the garlic. Add sweet potatoes and onions; toss to coat. Spread in 9x13-inch pan. Roast uncovered 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, brush pork tenderloin with 1/2 tablespoon oil. In small bowl, stir together 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt and the Parmesan cheese.

Move vegetables to center of pan; place pork tenderloin on one side. Sprinkle seasoning mixture evenly over pork. Insert ovenproof meat thermometer so tip is in thickest part of pork.

Roast uncovered 20 to 25 minutes longer or until thermometer reads 155°F. Cover pan with foil; let stand 5 minutes or until thermometer reads 160°F. (Temperature will continue to rise about 5°F, and pork will be easier to carve.)

Cut pork into 1-inch-thick slices; arrange on platter with sweet potatoes and onions. Sprinkle with parsley.

Happy New Year!

So I just got the greatest news- Mom's second bout of Cancer is OVER! She's in complete and total remission!!!!!

{insert cartwheels and fireworks here}

The type of cancer she has will continue to return in various spots for the rest of her life, but for now, it's done. She could be like this for two days, two months, two years, or twenty.. but this great news I will rejoice in- especially since she received her diagnosis just after we had Zachary.

More time with her, is better than any Christmas wish, New Year resolution, or birthday dream!!!
