Twitter Tweet-up at Sea World, Orlando- February, 2009

While tweeting one busy day, I happened to stumble across an announcement that there was going to be a Twitter "Tweet-Up" for all central Florida Mom bloggers. Excited as anything, I clicked on the link for more details, and opened up to a network of bloggers and people that would make such an exciting impact on my blogging life.

My girlfriend and I carpooled and took 3 kids two hours away, to meet Wendy Piersall and Ted Murphy at the amazing Sea World Orlando entrance. The only problem with that, is that I had never seen either one of them, (outside of their Twitter pics!), ever. We ended up showing up about 10 minutes later than we were supposed to be there because of an accident on I-4, but we got there. We looked around for a person wearing an orange shirt.. That day, I honestly think Sea World was plotting a great Orange Entourage, because everyone and their brothers were wearing orange shirts! Ok, maybe that was a little bit of an exaggeration, but seriously- there were a ton of people wearing orange!

After we found them, we talked for a little while, got the meet-up times, and headed into the park. We walked in, passed the shops and found the construction site for the new ride, MANTA. Alex is obsessed with Rollercoaster Tycoon, so we stopped a few minutes and watched the workers moving about. Alex informed me he wanted to come back as soon as it was opened. It is scheduled to open in May, this year.

We decided it would be best to try to plot out the day, but in the end, walked around in an organized dysfunction. We got to pet stingrays at the Stingray Lagoon, watch dolphins play and we even got to feed them at the Dolphin Cove. We watched the dolphin show and got to see sharks and other fish in an underwater tunnel exhibit. They swam freely around us, as we gazed and pointed while rolling on an automatic sidewalk to the other side. It was incredible! We took all three kids on the water ride, Journey to Atlantis, and shreiked as it dove down into the splash pool below! I knew there were shows at Sea World, but we ended up watching the dolphin show, the hysterical sea otter and walrus show, and the Believe Show which features the gorgeous Shamu, and the rest of the Orca Whale family. We sat in the "Splash Zone", and oh-my-gosh! It is *not* like smaller home shows, you get DRENCHED at the Believe show! The kids loved seeing the whales so up close, but when we got soaked with the chilly water, they wanted to move to drier seats.

The cold water on our clothes made the heat of the day a little more bearable as we walked through the rest of the park and saw penguins, and mermaids, and the kids got to play in the kids play area for awhile while my friend and I got a moment to reflect on the day. All in all, we had a blast at Sea World, and we met some great people, other mom bloggers, and Ted, and experienced the beauty and wonder of Sea World up close and personal. This experience was like no other, and I cannot say enough great things about the theme park and the exhibits. It was wonderful!

If you haven't had a chance to view my article on Dolphin Bubbles, feel free to check it out, and leave some feedback! I am including the link to more of the pictures below for a short period of time.

Build-A-Bear Workshop & Nestle Cookie Shop 3rd Birthday Party Review!

On the 21st, we celebrated Abbigaile's 3rd birthday with eleven of her friends and family members. We decided to go to the Build-A-Bear Workshop, and then to the Nestle Toll House Cafe at one of the malls nearby.

Abbigaile was so excited to see all of her friends at Build-A-Bear! This was our first time EVER going to Build-A-Bear, so honestly- I had no idea what to expect. The staff was amazing! This was a party with guests that ranged from ages 3-10. They lined up the kids and showed them the bears they needed to pick from, and everyone chose their bears. They lined back up, chanting, "Stuff Me! Stuff Me!" and marched to the giant filling machine. The children stayed occupied while everyone stuffed their bears (or other animals!) by playing games like Simon Says. They went through the whole process of stuffing, sewing, "washing" and fluffing then lastly- dressing. All of the kids had a blast, most of them newbies to Build-A-Bear. The children were happy to hear that they could play with their new friends on Buildabearville, a place online where their new stuffed friends come to life. Unfortunately, that day the entire Build-a-Bear Workshop computers were down, so they couldn't register their bears at the store. The staff was nice enough to offer to print them when the computers were working properly, and we arranged a convenient time to pick them up.

After all of the new stuffed friends were fluffed, dressed, and boxed up in their new homes we lined the children up and marched through the mall to the Nestle Toll House Cafe. Abbie and her guests celebrated with a huge chocolate cookie cake decorated with pink and purple icing. We sang Happy Birthday to her in the food court.

All in all, her birthday party and day was quite a success! The company was great, the giant cookie cake was yummy, and Build-A-Bear was a blast! What more could a three year old ask for?

Kid Safe Ink Review and Giveaway! #25

While standing on line at the Dumbo ride at the Magic Kingdom this year, I had the biggest scare of my life. Alex, Abbie and I were standing, counting random things, to help pass the time when Alex pointed something out to me. I turned my head to look at it, and turned my head back, and Abbigaile was gone. Gone. In Walt Disney World. With 9 million people, most of them children.. I almost died. The people in front of me and the people behind me didn't see where she went to, my biggest fear was happening before my very eyes. Brian had just come back with the drinks he got the same instant the panic started to fill my eyes. He took one look at me, and saw that she wasn't next to me and started scanning the line from the outside. Thankfully, Abbigaile was ok.. she had seen a very clear tunnel of backpacks that led 5 people behind us to the elephant topiary. While I was having a panic attack, she was watching the topiary as it spun in circles.

The owner and creator of Kid Safe Ink, Heather, went through a very similar experience with her son. They were on vacation in Maui, with some friends for the holidays. Her son (who was almost 6 at the time) got separated from them on the beach. Envision 200,000 people, on a BEACH and a never ending line of hotels that all look the same, and a hysterical child-suddenly lost- running frantically in the wrong direction! It toook their group a good 45 minutes for them to finally find him, as they ran from towel shack to towel shack, hotel to hotel.

The idea behind Kid Safe Ink developed that day, and now these fun and vibrant tattoos are available in several old school cool designs, a heart, star, anchor and sparrow, as well as a combo pack or you even have the ability to use your own logo or design! What's even better, is that these tattoos come pre-printed with your phone number of choice, are super easy to apply and they truly last the WHOLE weekend!

Want it?

Ooh La La Mama Review & Spectacular Giveaway! Day #24~ Fabulous February Fiesta!

Talk about cute, funky, unique clothing for your child! My husband told me that you either need a little hippie or a little punk-rock in you to truly appreciate the bold designs and patterns from Ooh La La Mama, but I've had more compliments from the dresses and shirts I received than any other outfits my kids wear!

My kids love receiving things in the mail, and most of the time, the stuff I review is geared towards Abbie's age range, so Alex often feels left out. When our package came from Ooh La La Mama, both of my children were ecstatic that there was something for them! Abbigaile got two dresses, the Peace Dove Dress and the Vintage Love Dress and Alex got a Rock Star shirt and one with a really cool vintage car!

Made of the softest cotton ever, both of the kids commented on how comfy these clothes are to wear! Seriously, I wish *I* could fit into their merchandise, they are soooooo super soft!!!! They looked awesome in their new apparel, but like a true rocker-Alex refused the Paparazzi and I was only able to capture a few of Abbigaile in her vintage Love dress. I personally love the Peace Dove dress on my daughter more, but Abbie loves wearing her 'heart dress' more. Alex's teacher LOVES the tees he got and adores Abbie's dresses.. and every time they wear them, someone asks where we got them.

WANT it?
Head over to Ooh La La Mama and check out their awesome selection of clothes from infant to 6T, in both boys and girls styles, as well as some styles that are gender neutral. Be sure to let Ooh La La Mama know that you read about them here on 4BabyAndMom!

My Precious Kid Review and Giveaway! Day #23~ Fabulous February Fiesta!

Several months ago, Alexzander started having some night terror like spells. Thankfully, it was extremely short lived, but nerve-wrecking nonetheless. In the process of trying to digest what was happening to my little man, I started researching places online that I could buy items to keep him safe. I happened to find a great shop called MY PRECIOUS KID.

Anything and everything that you could want or need to keep your child safe is found at this site. From BPA free sippy cups to identification tags and cards, to door alarms in case your little one tries to make a run for it in the middle of the night.

I had the opportunity to try our one of their new products, a Safe Sippy- a BPA and DEHA free stainless steel sippy cup perfect for kids 6 months of age and up. This cup is AWESOME. It keeps your cold beverages cold, is top-rack dishwasher friendly, has easy to grasp handles and a straw-like spout, but it's still "cool" for your growing toddler.. oh yeah, and the plastics on them aren't contaminated with cancer causing chemicals. The "green" movement is rolling, and this is a great way to take a small step to eliminate the plastics that shouldn't be around your child!

Did you know that in the event of a car accident, paramedics often transport children in the carseat they are strapped into? MY PRECIOUS KID offers a Car Seat Identification Card, so that should an emergency situation like that ever occur, you can rest assured, knowing that your child's medical and emergency contact information is attached to their carseat, and in plain sight of the EMT's.WANT IT?
Be sure to be prepared and check out all of the safety items at My Precious Kid, and at the checkout, be sure to mention that you read about them on 4BabyAndMom!

WIN IT!
We know that accidents do happen, so our friends at My Precious Kid are offering FIVE (5) of our readers the chance to win their own Car Seat Identification Card!

Here's how:

  • Spend some time getting to know MY PRECIOUS KID. Come back here and tell me what item they offer you might be interested in purchasing in the future and why.
  • Post this giveaway on your blog, and include a link back to 4BabyAndMom.

Talk About Cute Shoes! See Kai Run Review & Giveaway~#20

I had never heard of See Kai Run until this review. I did some research, and found out so many exciting things about the company, and read about so many happy customers- I knew I had to try them out!

It was love at first sight, when we opened the box and saw the Jennae shoes from See Kai Run.
"Are doz *my* pink shooce? My new pink shooce? Dare mine, mommy?"
"Yes baby, they are!"
"On my shooce, mommy? On my shooce!"

As soon as I took them out of the box, I knew these shoes were something special. The See Kai Run website describes them "Handcrafted from butter-soft sheepskin leather", and Oh-My-Goodness, they mean butter soft! I could only imagine that if they made these shoes in *my* size that they would feel like I was wearing a glove, or nothing at all, or the most expensive silk or leather- Seriously- they're THAT soft! Instantly, Abbigaile declared these shoes her new favorite shoes, and she wears them everywhere. She's been seen at the mall HERE, at the carnival, and even at the Marketplace at Downtown Disney. Everywhere we go, someone stops us to ask where we got them, it's to the point where I think I am going to ask them to send me a ton of business cards!

The quality of these shoes is exceptional, I've noticed that we've had them long enough to see that the insoles start indenting to her foot, so it really gives her a great fit (think the way Reefs take the shape of your feet). The customer service is awesome; I had some questions about the lining, and I got a quick and courteous answer right away. See Kai Run shoes have been given the APMA Seal of Acceptance, which is only given after passing extremely high standards for foot health and functionality.

See Kai Run shoes are available for both boys and girls, and from Smaller sizes 0-6 mos. through 12-18 mos. and in toddler sizes 3-9. Whether you are looking for a pair of sandals, dress up shoes, sneakers, or regular every day shoes, the selection of bold, beautiful colors will allow you to find just the perfect pair. For your older children, See Kai Run offers the Eleven line, which carries sizes 9-3.

Not only does See Kai Run carry something for everyone, the company itself has been very active in giving back to the community as well as the entire world through their partnership with Soles4Souls and several other charitable organizations.

Win it!
Our friends at See Kai Run are offering one very lucky reader their chance to win a pair of SEE KAI RUN shoes for their little runner, or a pair of SMALLER by See Kai Run shoes for your baby!

Here's how to enter:

The Unnamed Post

Ugh, my old computer really did one in on me, my folders are all screwy! If you participated in one of the giveaways, please check out that "did you win?" link in the top right hand corner of my blog and if you won, reply there and then shoot me an email if you haven't received one from me. I think I got you all now, and everything is caught up on.. if I didn't please email me at 4babyandmom [at] gmail [dot] com.

Anywho- I have a laptop now.. We decided on a PC until we can get the Mac I oogled over. so far so good! The only thing that I am trying to get used to on this computer vs. my desktop, is the paint program (which is how I post the winners). If you notice the colors might be a little off on the last few, vs. the earlier winners, I apologize.. LOL!

Bri's home from work today because they had no work, so please do me a favor and say a little prayer that his company does no more layoffs. If they do, he's on the next batch of layoffs. The only other people that would be left are the ones with the same last name as the Company, or ones directly related through blood or marriage. He only worked two days this week, this is not good. Hopefully we can catch up on some things that need to be done around the house while Alex is in school today.

The kids and I are *finally* starting to feel better, our company from NY and TN have headed home, Alex has school pictures today, and Abbie has her Build-A-Bear Birthday party tomorrow. I'm psyched! (Yes, I just used psyched.)

Alex has been doing so great with school lately, I could just burst! Since being transferred to his new school, he was doing well, and then he started testing and pushing their limits again just a few weeks ago. I talked with the behavioral specialist, and told her how I *know* that his behavior correlates with his sleep and when he sleeps well, he has better days, and when he doesn't go to bed on time or has an interrupted sleep, the next day is atrocious. She and my normal pediatrician suggested we try giving him melatonin at night before bed to see if that had any effect on his behaviors. Since he's started the melatonin on school nights, his behavior at school, and at home has done a complete 180, and he's excelling so much further than I ever thought was possible!

It turns out that my son is not Autistic, does not have some form of social dysfunction, and he does *not* have a learning disability- like the other school implied- or Asperger's Syndrome, as they "strongly suggested". In fact, it's the exact opposite. I've always thought that Alex was a smart cookie, but never did I expect what ended up happening next. He was evaluated by an independent psychologist, and his abbreviated I.Q. score came back as 133. The psychologist said that if the full test was administered, he'd likely be deemed "very gifted". He's been tested by his current teacher (who he LOVES!!) and we found out that he reads over a 6th grade level! (He's in Kindergarten, by the way.) One day I was researching learning disabilities, and the next I am sitting shocked and confused on how one could misdiagnose without a degree in medicine, and not recognize excellence. Why did the other school have to put our family through the personal hell they did?! I am furious, and praying for the right words to write to the Board of Education and to the Superintendent.

So, that's pretty much the updates around here. I am so excited as to what the future holds for Alex, for my family, for my Little Miss, and for my new computer. It's a good day!

Oh wait, I'm sure you all want a giveaway and review today, huh? Well, you're going to have to stay tuned, because our SEE KAI RUN review will be posted later this afternoon. You're not going to want to miss it! :o)

The Best Blanket EVER! (At least I think so!) ~Day #19 Review & Giveaway!

"Yay, it's here!"

"What the HECK is that?!" My husband asks, (as I pull out my new favorite blanket in the whole wide world).

"It's a Slanket!"

"A wha?"

"A Slanket."

"Ok, babe- whatever you say," was the response I got from him.

"Give it a week, I promise you'll be in love." All I got this time was him rolling his eyes as he walked into the kitchen for a cup of cocoa.

I, on the other hand, unfolded the ruby red slanket that I got, and snuggled on the couch and finished watching my favorite prime time sitcom. Immediately, I was hooked!

Despite Brian's initial "weirdness" with the Slanket, (and after he saw how snuggly Alex and I looked reading together, and how Abbie and I were comfortably watching Dora on Saturday morning), it wasn't long before he was sitting wearing my Slanket watching the weather channel and some male politic show in the recliner!

Made out of the softest, and warmest fleece, the Slanket is perfect for you and your children to do just about anything! Alex likes to use his while he reads in his room, because his arms are free to turn pages, scratch his head or whatever an almost 6 year old can come up with!

Not only is this product "absolutely splendid" (as per one of my dear girlfriends), the company is too. Right now, they are donating a percentage of their proceeds to help the fight against world poverty!

Want it?
Head over to Slanket and check out their products for adults and children. If you order something, be sure to mention that you saw the Slanket review at 4BabyAndMom!

Mainstays Plug In Air Freshener Review and Giveaway!

I LOVE candles, scented oils, melting tarts, and all plug in type air fresheners. I can never have enough yummy smelling scents around the house but because my sinuses are sensitive, I cannot have floral scents or strong perfumey scents, and often find myself sticking to the sweet foods or earthy autumn scents. (Think: apples and cinnamon, pumpkin spice, etc).

So the other day, overwhelmed by two children in diapers, I declared my independence and left my husband to fend for himself and all three children and headed to Wal-mart. I seriously used to live in Target and Wal-mart before NewBaby came around... but now, it's too difficult with a clingy toddler and a needy newborn. I'm a label reader, and well, reading labels is rather difficult when between every other word there's a "MOMMYYYYYY!!!" or a squeak from underneath the mountains of blankets. I digress...

Anyway, as I'm walking through the aisles, I notice that they finished the new Mainstays candle aisle, so I turn my cart and narrowly avoid a head on collision with a frazzled mom juggling twin toddlers and two pink candles. I smile as she apologizes- why do we always feel the need to apologize for our crazy children? It's not like her kids were frazzling me.. So I get into the aisle, situate myself near the beginning, as the echoes of a babbling brook (playing out of one of those buttoned machines) turns the aisle into my own personal getaway. I begin sniffing all of the candles, and stumble upon cranberry mandarin. Holy Yum, Batman!! What could be better?Oh yeah, it's available in a plug-in style air freshener- You wanna know what's even better than that?? It was only $4.74!! You have no idea, I wanted to screetch with happiness! There's only two scents in the regular plug ins that I can tolerate, and the fancy Febreze versions are too expensive, unless you have double coupons and a money maker deal at Walgreens. This plug-in scent holder part is glass, and the picture really does it no justice- it looks more "upscale" than it's price. Once the fragrance is used up, the glass refills are readily available and interchangable.

I am so in love with this product, (and the scent!), that I wanted to share my happiness with you all, so I am offering one lucky reader a $10 Wal-mart gift card, so you can go and check out their new line of home fragrance scents and purchase your favorite plug-in! My only rule for this one, is whoever wins this one, you need to drop me a line and let me know which one you picked out, and how much you love it!

Here's how to win:

  • Leave me a comment on which room you need to freshen up and why.
  • Post this giveaway on your blog, and include a link back.
  • Add a button to your blog.
  • Email at least 3 of your friends and CC me at 4BabyAndMom [at] gmail [dot] com

Eco-Friendly, Frunchy, Educational- Children's Music? Bobs & Lolo Review and Giveaway!

Children's music lately has been saturated with and abundance of "knock-off" popular mainstream music, and frankly, is starting to drive me crazy! The classic three note songs of blind mice, boats and stars get old super quickly in my house, and there's only so much Mouse type music I can handle. Searching for music for my kids that meet all of my criteria (educational, fun, easy for Mommy to listen to), has been a super pain, and my children usually just listen to the sounds of each other singing their ABC's. Then I found the music of Bobs & Lolo!
You would expect to hear the catchy tunes of Bobs & Lolo in between Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Little Einsteins, but not yet! The Canadian Duo have recently debuted on Treehouse TV (February 6th) and they currently have three CD's, and one entrancing DVD available on the market. Since we received our package from Bobs & Lolo, my kids haven't stopped singing and dancing! Abbigaile's favorite song is Raindrop Pop, or "My Raindrop?!" This song teaches about how the rain helps to feed the trees, and how the water cycle works- in a fun and exciting toddler tune! Alexzander loves Right Track, a song about friendship, and we even "Choo-choo" with our arms around the house, or in the car. *My* favorite is the Litterbug Jive, a story of a litter bug named Clyde and how he turns his bad habits into something great! Brian thinks the songs are wonderful- but that we've all gone too green for his liking. Don't be fooled, the other evening when I walked in the door from running errands, he was singing a song while he was loading the dishes!Bobs & Lolo not only have great music, but exceptional customer service. I emailed them with some questions and they responded super quick, and super sweet! Our package even came with some Bobs & Lolo stickers and temporary tattoos, which my kids tore into right away. Abba Dabba Bags Review & Wristlet Giveaway! Day #16 of the Fabulous February Fiesta!

Looking for a new handbag, tote bag, baby bag, make-up bag or wristlet? Whatever type of bag you're looking for, you'll find one in a bold colored, funky design at ABBA DABBA BAGS.

Functional and versatile, these bags are perfect for any outing you go on. Teachers will love the larger tote styled bags for all of your books, organizers and supplies; the zipper pocket inside allows for you to keep your smaller items from being lost in the bottom of your bag. The sturdy straps are comfortable enough to tote anywhere!

The inside of bags made by ABBA DABBA BAGS are made with complimentary colored fabrics that really make your bag stand out in a crowd. Abba Dabba Bags are made with quality fabrics and very high standards. I love the fact that on their site, they have so many different views of their bags, inside, outside, every different way. It's like you're "feeling and touching" without leaving your computer! Abba Dabba Bags is on popular sites such as ETSY, and ArtFire as well, so be sure to look for them there!

4BabyAndMom got a chance to talk to Monica, owner and creator of Abba Dabba Bags, and got to know her a little better. Here's what Monica had to say!

Tell me what you love about your company, and a little bit about the woman behind Abba Dabba Bags!

I am a mom, a wife and a bag-maker. My mom taught me to sew when I was young but I didn't make my first bag until my son was born. I just couldn't find a diaper bag that suited my style and needs so I gave it a try. It was a beautiful toile and pink tote that got attention wherever we went. Eventually I had requests to make them for friends (and friends-of-friends) and AbbaDabba Bags was born. I had recently made the switch from VP in the corporate world to stay-at-home mom when I started selling my bags online. It seemed like a nice hobby to keep me sane but it quickly changed from a hobby to an official business. I love having the opportunity to be creative and the flexibility to fit this business into my family's schedule. I am always working on new bags and searching for new fabrics but it is my fabulous customers who do the most to keep me challenged and inspired.

Thanks Monica for sharing that with us!

Do you have thin hair or dandruff? Hairever Scalp Treatment & Shampoo System Review

Since having children, my hair has gone completely wild. When I was pregnant with Alex, my naturally curly hair became dry and brittle, and my scalp became greasy. With Abbie, my hair became frizzy and wavy, but still had a shine, but my scalp started drying, and cracking and flaking. I was mortified!

After having her, my body chemistry never really readjusted well, and finding hair products that worked for me became increasingly difficult. Head and Shoulders worked a little, T-gel left my head feeling disgusting, and then anything that had tea tree oil or any tree scents/tars, etc, made me wheeze with my allergies. It really was a struggle!

I happened to be venting about my hair to a friend of mine that works for a company that sells a lot of natural products, and she recommended that I check out the Hairever line from Home Health. Home Health was created about 65 years ago, and their goal was simple- to "research and develop the finest naturally-based bath and body care products available." Today their philosophy remains the same and their lines include creams, perfumes and body splashes, as well as a variety of hair, health and skin care items.

Since using the Hairever I Cleansing Scalp Treatment, Hairever Shampoo, and Hairever II Vitamin Tonic, I've noticed a definite improvement in my scalp health, the decrease of flakes, and my once-temperamental hair became manageable for the first time in years! The labels also state that removing the fatty acids and hair care buildup helps encourage healthy hair, which essentially, improves hair that has started thinning.

Check out all of the great, natural, cruelty-free products that Home Health has to offer, and find the line that works best for you!

Teething Bling~Review and Giveaway! Day 13~Fabulous February Fiesta!

Ok I know, I'm late again today! In my defense, I had to bring the baby to the doctor and I was soooo sick today. The reviews and giveaways that are posted today and tomorrw are going to be extended a few days to pull me through the weekend, so I can hopefully feel better and get things pumping again next week! Thank you to those who have sent "get well soon" wishes and prayers, they are always greatly appreciated!

Onto the fun stuff!!
I never heard of Teething Bling, until I saw the selection at Baby Sweet Pea. At Baby Sweet Pea, you can browse their variety of baby items from Christening rompers, to adorable clothing sets, to wraps to carry your pumpkin with, and so much more!

When Alex was born, I told Brian to stop buying me any jewelry, because like all the other babies out there, as soon as I wore a necklace or bracelet, my son needed to grab it and pull, with the almightiest of strength! How in the world did this 10 pounder break EVERY.SINGLE.NECKLACE he grabbed?! Silver, gold, platinum.. it didn't matter within a couple of days, *snap* it would break. So all of my necklaces were banished, and only reappeared on special occasions. All of my kid-less friends would wear their funky chunky beaded necklaces, and my neck stood alone and bare.

After bottle feeding ended I celebrated the day, and went out and started buying necklaces again, knowing that the days of snapped chains and elastic were long gone. Little did I know that soon God would put the needs of a preemie baby girl into our hands, and bottle feedings were going to begin all over again.

NewBaby almost broke one of my necklaces with her super-human infant strength, and after that, I limited my jewelry to only one chain that I own. It's adjustable, by just a pull of a charm, and presto!- it's out of reach. Then when Baby Sweet Pea contacted me and offered for me to try their Teething Bling, I was intrigued and couldn't wait for my package to arrive!

As soon as I got it, I put it on! I love how stylish it is!! I got the "brown snowflake" pattern, because I wear a ton of earthy colors, and thought that that would go with more outifits. The baby is too young to gnaw on it, but she does grab it all the time! I love the fact that it's made from the highest-quality, phthalate-free, federally approved silicone and that the material is non-toxic, latex-free, food safe, even dishwasher-friendly! It is the same silicone used in many other popular teething products and SGS test reports are available upon request from Baby Sweet Pea. The breakaway clasp ensures that if she gives a great big solid tug, if it comes apart, it can snap back together again!

I've never seen a product like this before, but what an awesome product it is! It's a great buy, (only $19), but it's a teether, a fashion necklace, and something to keep little hands occupied all at the same time. This necklace has allowed me to wear other shorter necklaces at the same time, and has kept NewBaby's little hands off of them! I am so excited to own my own Teething Bling!

Want it? Head over to Baby Sweet Pea and check out their selection of colors, shapes and sizes! They even have bracelets!! At the check-out apply the code FIESTA to receive a 15% discount!

Win it! Our friends at
Baby Sweet Pea are offering our readers their choice of one Teething Bling Donut, Heart Shaped Pendant, or Key-Chain in which ever color you choose!

Here's how!

  • Go over to Baby Sweet Pea and check out their selection of baby products. Check out their Teething Bling styles mentioned above, and come back here and let me know which one you want to WIN- Don't forget to name which style, shape AND COLOR choice!!

ME4Kidz Review & Giveaway~ Fiesta Day #11

When I received my package from ME4Kidz, I was so excited! I'm one of those people that try really hard to keep an organized baby bag, but then a sippy cup leaks or the great cheerio massacre happens while I'm making a left hand turn, and well... things don't look as pretty as intended! All of our first aid type stuff (which was about three band-aids, and a thing of Neosporin), was in a very old plastic baggie, barely hanging on. The diaper changing stuff was placed in all the compartments that they typically belong in, but when it was time to use them, they were never where I grabbed. I needed help, badly, and that's where the MediBuddy and Diaper Bag Buddy came in to the rescue!

Both of these kits are sized perfectly to slip into one of those sleeves on the inside or outside side of your diaper bag.. you know the place that the bottles or Desitin are now? But they are made out of sturdy recycled, lead free plastic that even while you're banging through the tiny aisles in Target, will stay where they are, and so will the products inside of them!

The Diaper Bag Buddy is full of all of your "Baby Basics" which is great when you're on the go, and accidentally run out of wipes, or don't have something you need because you left it on the changing table. Packaged individually, there is a ton of all natural & organic products that are safe for babies skin. It's jam packed with diaper rash ointment, tush wipes, a disposable thermometer, aloe vera gel, moisturizer and even shampoo and body wash! LOVE it!

The Medibuddy is overflowing with first aid products for your child! In this kit, you'll find adorable latex free crayon bandages, a larger knee/elbow bandage, a sting relief pad (Oh, how I wish I had this three months ago, when Alex got stung for the first time!), gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, burn cream, and antibiotic ointment, plus happy face stickers to make your little one feel better after their big boo-boo! There's even a coupon code included for a free refill! You can't get better than this, ANYWHERE!

My kids see the Medibuddy come out when they're hurt, and right away start asking for which color crayon bandage or which smiley face sticker they want, and the pain from their scrapes seem to vanish immediately! I am so happy that I found these products, I can honestly say that I am going to be recommending this product to all of my mommy friends!

The customer service and communication with ME4Kidz, is really outstanding! It's very important for me to find companies that still communicate with their buyers, and ME4Kidz was awesome at answering all of my questions personally and quickly.. and made me feel like *my* needs for first aide for my famiy were the most important. ME4Kidz is also family owned and operated, their products are MADE IN THE USA, and they give back 10% of their sales to help the disabled communities! Qualities like that, unfortunately, are very rare in today's society but after my experience with ME4Kidz, I knew that I had to share this all with my readers!

Want it?
Head to ME4Kidz and browse their entire line of first aid products for children and families. Next time you're at Toys R Us, Babies R Us or Target, check the aisles for ME4Kidz products!

Win It!
Our Friends from ME4Kidz have offered a 4BabyAndMom reader their choice of their favorite "Buddy"!

Here's How!

Moby Wrap review and Giveaway!~Fabulous Fiesta Day #10

When we found out that we were getting NewBaby, I panicked! All of our baby stuff we got rid of three weeks prior in a yard sale, on craigslist and on Ebay. We had decided that if we had another baby we would buy all new things, because it wouldn't be for another couple of years, blah, blah, blah! Thankfully, I have an amazing group of friends, neighbors and family members that helped us out and gave and loaned us everything under the sun a newborn would need. One of my friends offered me her Moby Wrap and I accepted. I had heard such amazing reviews after I had Abbie that I *almost* bought one, but I was afraid that it would be like all the other wraps and carriers I've tried before.

I'm a bigger woman, (height and weight), and my back, since having kids, hasn't been all that great. Most carriers I've used cuts into my shoulders or digs into my love handles, or doesn't redistribute the weight evenly at all! I end up needing a massage from my husband at the end of the day, and barely able to move the next because of the strain on my back. So obviously, you see why I was a little reluctant- but after she showed me how to use it, I became excited!

When I came home, I pulled it out of the box and showed Brian. He was happy that I was so thrilled, but asked if he should buy more massage oil. I wrapped the Moby Wrap around me, and flipped it over my shoulders, finished securing it into place and put the baby in it. Brian looked at me as if I was a kung-fu princess that just did some wild kick-flip-hi-ya thing.. and then looked at the baby and was amazed at how comfy she looked and that she could actually still breathe while in it. He didn't believe me when I told him that I wouldn't be hurting later, in fact I think he said it was "impossible".

At the end of the night, after cooking, putting two kids to bed and sweeping the floor, while wearing NewBaby the whole time, I unwrapped her, laid her in bed and folded my Moby Wrap as I headed into the shower. Bri asked me again how my shoulders and my back felt, and honestly for the first time ever, (after wearing a baby for ANY amount of time), I could say it didn't feel like I wore a baby all night AT ALL.

The weight was evenly distributed, the baby was comfortable and snuggly, I even tried my neighbors 8 month old, just to see if it was different if the baby weighed more than 6 pounds! The Moby Wrap is wide enough that I could comfortably adjust the width of the pieces that laid on my shoulders, and then the little pouch that helps secure the baby is snug enough that you could feel comfortable doing just about anything with the Moby Wrap on!

The next day, I went grocery shopping with Alex and when he walked in the door, he bursted hysterical laughing. "Mommy, you gotta come look at this," he said through giggles. I walked in with all our bags, and my husband was wearing the baby in the Moby Wrap and loading the dishwasher with a big grin on his face. "See, I told you it was awesome!" I told him as I unloaded the groceries. The baby was snuggled and secure, and my husband was actually able to do things without being called away to a coo or goo or "hold me" cry.

We love the Moby Wrap, it really was the best fit for our family! We love it so much that we had to find one to give away to one lucky reader!

Our friends at Worth The Wait Boutique have offered one Sand colored Moby Wrap to give away today! Worth The Wait Boutique offers an amazing selection of items for parents that are on the journey to adoption, and becoming a Forever Family with the child they always dreamed about! Fabulous February Fiesta Day #9~ BabyTalkBio/The Mama Sphere Review & Giveaway

As a mom, it's very important that you find yourself a community of peers that accept you for who you are and help you through the ropes. There are many ups and downs of parenting that really aren't covered in many of those "what to expect" type books, and honestly, it should be. The most valuable thing you are in charge of is your child's life, and there are absolutely no "how to books" that cover all the bases. Some women are very lucky and have that tight knit group of friends they grew up with, all having babies about the same time. Some find their niche in a playgroup or at the park, or even with their extended family.

When I was pregnant with Alex, I wish there was a place like BABYTALKBIO for me to run to at all hours and post my questions. Alex was my first, and I was young, and the only experience I had with babies was an occasional sitting job and the experience with my two nieces. I questioned all of his bodily functions, spit-up, the formula he was on and even how early he got his teeth! I called my aunt several times to make sure that him sleeping for 7 hours at night was ok, even though he was just two weeks old. I tried a couple of online parenting communities, but with all the cliques and drama, it was just too much for me to deal with. I wanted to find a place that I could go to and ask my questions without feeling belittled and uneducated about whatever topic it was. I am an educated woman, but seriously, did you know what color your child's poop would turn after he ate his first blueberries? Or that raisins or seeds from Kiwi's come out the other end and look just the same as they went in?

What do you you tell your son when he asks you why *he* can't have a purse when you and his sister carry one? "Because you're a boy," seems so... invalid. When you feed your child blueberries and then they poop this wild electric green poop at 11:45 at night, where do you go to look it up? Do you call someone? For the past three and a half years, I have been going to BABYTALKBIO with all of my motherhood questions, stories, experiences, and blunders.

The amazing group of women on this site are real women, with real children, with real stories, and with real questions, and most importantly, with real answers. On BABYTALKBIO you'll find moms who are nurses, police officers, teachers, car seat techs, entrepreneurs, business women, and domestic engineers! They all come from different faiths, different backgrounds, and they don't judge you because you diaper differently, or are having trouble breastfeeding and want to switch to formula; they treat you with respect, help and encourage you, support you, and educate you.

There are things that I learned as a member of Babytalkbio that I don't think I'd ever learn about having kids. I learned benefits of extended rear-facing car seats, I learned that I could make my own baby food if money was tight, I learned how to make my husbands new favorite meal in the recipe section, and I even learned some tips and techniques to keeping my love life.. lovely. *wink*

In the next coming weeks, Babytalkbio is going to be emerging from a beautiful make over & redesign and opening it's wings as The Mama Sphere.

Today is the celebration of BABYTALKBIO'S 4th birthday, and with the upcoming launch of The Mama Sphere, our friends at Babytalkbio are giving away a 2 MONTH subscription for current BTB members only!!!!
