Juice, Milk, Eggs.. Grocery Store Confessions- Another Baby, or No?

The other day, (while walking through my local supermarket), I got into a very interesting conversation with a little old lady about having more babies, and enjoying the two I have at this age/stage now.

We turned down the dairy aisle and this voice starts giggling at my children (who at the moment were trying to crash the car-shaped cart into the milk display.) It was moments like that where I honestly thanked God that the plastic steering wheel was "for show" only. Anyway..

She's giggling and I look up abruptly, and she starts telling me how she loved her kids at this age, but that at this stage there was already a third one, and that she has four children- all about 2 and a half years apart from each other. I tried to do the mommy brush-off, but apparently this woman and I were supposed to talk. So we got into it.. right in the dairy aisle, while the kids were playing in the car cart and thankfully before I grabbed our perishables.

I don't know how it came about, but during our conversation I told her that I was worried about adding another child to our chaos, as of right now, I kind of like the two that I have and don't feel out numbered- plus, I'm worried about how the kids will react to having another sibling. (Yes, I know we recently had NewBaby as a part of our family, but that was different than a sibling..)

I mean, have you ever seen the way boys that are 7 years apart act towards each other?? There's no way that Alex would be cool with a little brother- no matter how badly he wants one- shadowing after him... Right?

Brian is itching for another one; Alex wants a brother & Abbie wants a "girl baby for a sister".. and I have no idea what I want. That's the problem.. and I know it. I love my family where it is right now.. I am comfortable with the fact that by the time I am 40, Alex will be 19, and Abbie will be 16.. Another Baby would be turning 13 if I got pregnant at this very second. Whoa. I know it's not the same as having an 11 and 12 year old, and having a newborn at 37 like my mom did, but it's still a huge nut to swallow.

Tell me I'm right, that I'm crazy for even having this conversation with the little old lady in the grocery aisle, and that I should have that same "knowing" feeling that I did before we conceived Abbie, if another one should be added to our family. Tell me your stories of how your children get along, especially if they are about the ages of my two, with number three- or how you get along with your sibling of about the same age.

Ack, I can't even believe I'm publishing this post, but I really need some thoughts on this. I'm starting to think there's something wrong with me.. *sigh*

I don't feel "done" but I don't feel ready- how do you decide?

Ooh La La Mama Review & Spectacular Giveaway! Day #24~ Fabulous February Fiesta!

Talk about cute, funky, unique clothing for your child! My husband told me that you either need a little hippie or a little punk-rock in you to truly appreciate the bold designs and patterns from Ooh La La Mama, but I've had more compliments from the dresses and shirts I received than any other outfits my kids wear!

My kids love receiving things in the mail, and most of the time, the stuff I review is geared towards Abbie's age range, so Alex often feels left out. When our package came from Ooh La La Mama, both of my children were ecstatic that there was something for them! Abbigaile got two dresses, the Peace Dove Dress and the Vintage Love Dress and Alex got a Rock Star shirt and one with a really cool vintage car!

Made of the softest cotton ever, both of the kids commented on how comfy these clothes are to wear! Seriously, I wish *I* could fit into their merchandise, they are soooooo super soft!!!! They looked awesome in their new apparel, but like a true rocker-Alex refused the Paparazzi and I was only able to capture a few of Abbigaile in her vintage Love dress. I personally love the Peace Dove dress on my daughter more, but Abbie loves wearing her 'heart dress' more. Alex's teacher LOVES the tees he got and adores Abbie's dresses.. and every time they wear them, someone asks where we got them.

WANT it?

Eco-Friendly Bamboo Leg Huggers Review & Giveaway!

As a mom of a potty training almost-3-year-old, finding tights that are easy to take on and off has been quite difficult. When I received my Fantastic Fuchsia Leg Huggers in the mail, I knew that things were going to get a whole lot easier!

Abbigaile is a very active toddler, even though sh
e likes twirling her hair and pink frilly things, you can often find her jumping, running, and playing with any ball imaginable. She's a tomboy at heart, and is very rough on her clothes. Most durable clothing is too scratchy, then she breaks out in hives and certain blends give her a rash. With her sensitive skin, and I need to be careful with the materials she comes in contact with. We've never owned anything made of Bamboo fibers, but wow these are soft! When we opened the package she beamed a huge smile, and told me they were her tights. So we put them right on, and we were both in LOVE!

"Oooh mommy, deez are soft!" she said, as she stroked her legs. "And look, iz a HEART! Iz two hearts! And more hearts.. Iz mine hearts on my legs!" as she points out the two hearts on her thighs and the row of hearts around each ankle.

They are super soft and comfortable,
breathable, UV protective, odor resistant, and naturally antibacterial. If that's not good enough, they are made with no chemicals or pesticides, so I can feel comfortable knowing she won't break out with them on her little legs!

They are available in 13 fun and stylish patterns, from Retro Argyle to Popsicle Parade as well as two solid pink shades, for more conservative little ladies.

My husband thinks they're adorable too, (but blushes every time my daughter wants to show her upper hearts off), but after we remind her she's a lady- she giggles and drops the hem of her dress. We've washed them several times already, and I am very happy to say that they wear and wash VERY well- no pills, unraveling or fading; other brands have not withheld the extreme activities of Miss Abbigaile at all! I must say I am definitely impressed with the quality of this product! BUY IT!

Lots of Excitement @ 4 Baby And Mom!! Updates and More!

Wow! So life has been interesting to say the least.. adjusting to NewBaby, and having a sick toddler on top of everything- days are a little longer and nights a whole lot shorter, but the rewards are definitely worth it.

NewBaby is doing well. She's grown from 4lbs 13oz to 5lbs 2 oz!! Grow Baby, Grow!! The pediatrician is very impressed with how superb she is doing. She really is a little miracle baby!

Abbigaile is sick.. The other night she spiked a high fever and instead of just keeping a watchful eye on it, I decided to bring her to the ER because of NewBaby. Surprisingly, we were in and out in about an hour! Turns out she has an ear infection, and a sore throat, possibly strep, but the doc couldn't really see all the way in. Abbie has ear tubes, I thought infections weren't supposed to happen?? Oh well.

Alex is doing very well at school, now that they've advanced his reading group. He is in a 1st grade reading group, and LOVES it! Completely different from his old school that thought perhaps he had Autism or Asperger's Syndrome, or some other spectrum disorder. Amazing what some people can come up with, just because they're not willing to recognize excellence.

On to the fun stuff! 4BabyAndMom's Fabulous February Fiesta is coming up! We have only a few more slots left for sponsors, so if you know of an amazing company that you'd love to see featured, please let me know! You can contact me at 4BabyAndMom [at] gmail [dot] com.

You saw the other list of sponsors HERE, right? I cannot wait! There's going to be giveaways, discounts galore, interviews and many amazing products featured! Oh, now you want to know who else is participating?? Ok, ok.. Here's another sneak peek!!

Fantastic Friday! Free Children's Activities & Crafts 'No Time For Flashcards' Website Review

Another rainy or snowy day in December passes as your children tell you for the 9 millionth time, “Mommy, I’m bored!” You’ve played about 42 games of Candy Land, colored all of the pages in the My Little Pony coloring book Santa brought, and organized the Legos to replica the pyramids in Egypt 10 times over.. what do you have left to do? The school break is almost over, and my children, along with many others are becoming quite stir crazy.

Thankfully a former preschool teacher, director, camp leader, Mom, and wife, Allie, put together one of the best preschool activity sites to date! NO TIME FOR FLASHCARDS was developed as a resource of activities for young children that promote play, discovery and learning. Children are intrigued by the sounds of songs in familiar tunes, lessons that are easy to follow, and crafts made with everyday items found around the house.

I met Allie, author at NO TIME FOR FLASHCARDS , on BabyTalkBio , an online parenting community. Instantaneously, my children and I fell in love with the arts & crafts, as well as all of the songs and book reviews Allie posts. Abbigaile is almost 3 and her favorite thing to do is watch the songs preformed on NO TIME FOR FLASHCARDS . She sits and mimics the hand movements, bops & dances to the music, and giggles with every funny facial expression. She asks for me to play them over, and over, and over again! My son. Alex, is almost 6 and loves recognizing the tunes. The words to the songs are always sung to a familiar tune, such as "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star". The crafts are easy enough for my daughter and interesting enough for my son. We've made homemade crayons, a rainbow of colors, and even tried today's post on NO TIME FOR FLASHCARDS - Free Art Friday, Yogurt Finger Painting.

Allie's beautiful son models all the arts and crafts, and readers often submit pictures of their creations. If you've never heard of NO TIME FOR FLASHCARDS, be sure to check out the Top 10 of 2008 for fabulous ideas to help your children stay active, learn new and exciting things, all through free play and their own creativity. The possibilities are endless and with the help of No Time For Flashcards, you and your child will never have to be bored again!
