Blueberry Monkey Bread Bake

I opened up my email this morning and found this delicious looking recipe. I'm now on the hunt for Pillsbury Grands! Homestyle blueberry biscuits. I figured I would share this with you all, as a yummy way to start your fall mornings! Enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cans (16.3 oz each) Pillsbury Grands! Homestyle refrigerated blueberry biscuits
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/3 cup blueberry jam
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk
Steps
1 Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. In large resealable food-storage plastic bag, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon.

2 Separate dough into 16 biscuits; cut each into quarters. Shake in bag to coat. Arrange in pan, covering bottom of pan completely. Top with blueberries. In small microwavable bowl, microwave jam uncovered on High 15 to 30 seconds or until melted. Drizzle over biscuits.

3 Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and no longer doughy in center. Cool 10 minutes. In medium bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk to drizzling consistency; drizzle on top.

To serve, cut into squares or scoop out with a spoon. Cover and refrigerate any monkey bread, and use within 3 days.

Special thanks to Pillsbury for sharing this recipe with me. No monetary compensation has been received for sharing this post with you.

FREE Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls at 7-11

The mornings just got a little sweeter at 7-Eleven stores with the introduction of a new Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll, the retailer’s first warm bakery offering and the first Pillsbury branded fresh-bakery item with a convenience retailer.

Available with hot foods as well as in the fresh bakery case at participating stores, 7-Eleven’s sweetly spiced version invokes the nostalgic, baked-at-home flavor of America’s favorite Pillsbury sweet roll. The suggested retail price is $1.69.

To encourage customers to sample, a limited-time coupon for a free cinnamon roll will be available on 7-Eleven’s app beginning Sept. 10. Other limited-time offers featuring the sweet pastry will continue in the coming weeks, and customers are encouraged to check their smartphones often for additional mobile coupons. All 7-Eleven app coupons are good at participating stores, while supplies last.

7-Eleven’s fresh food innovations team worked for more than a year on the development with Pillsbury to ensure consistent product quality. Prepared and baked fresh daily in local bakeries across the country, the cinnamon rolls are delivered overnight to stores before the morning coffee crowd arrives.

“Our goal in partnering with Pillsbury was to create an indulgent cinnamon roll that looked and tasted homemade,” said Kelly Buckley, 7-Eleven, Inc. vice president of fresh food innovation. “For more than 100 years, Pillsbury has been ‘the’ name in home-baking. Now, 7-Eleven can offer the homemade taste in a convenient, grab-and-go setting.”

During the morning rush, participating 7-Eleven stores can serve the cinnamon rolls warm in mini bakery boxes. Created just for the Pillsbury cinnamon roll, the microwave-safe boxes also are available at the bakery case for customers who choose to select an unheated roll to eat later. Rolls take just 10 seconds to heat in a microwave oven in the bakery boxes.

“We expect the Pillsbury cinnamon roll will be a hot-seller in the mornings when people are stopping by to grab a cup of coffee on their way to work or school,” Buckley said. “However, experience tells us that lots of our customers come into our stores in the afternoons and even late at night looking for a sweet and satisfying treat.”

Wearing red-checked oven mitts, the Poppin’ Fresh Pillsbury Doughboy character can be seen popping up on in-store signage to promote 7-Eleven’s first Pillsbury-branded fresh bakery item.

“Partnering with 7-Eleven gives General Mills an opportunity to bring the fresh-baked goodness of a ready-to-eat Pillsbury-branded cinnamon roll to millions of people,” said Randy Johnson, General Mills Inc. market manager. “I believe the aroma in the stores and rich taste of these warm cinnamon rolls will make them a hit with 7-Eleven’s customers.”

Mobile coupons – for a free cinnamon roll, 75-cent discount, or a free roll with the purchase of a medium coffee – will be available on 7-Eleven’s smartphone app now through the end of October.

Cinnamon isn’t the only spice at 7-Eleven ushering in cooler temperatures. It wouldn’t be fall without Pumpkin Spice, one of 7-Eleven’s customers’ favorite hot beverage flavors and back for a limited time. Customers can choose Pumpkin Spice-flavored lattes or brewed coffee. Even the creamer is in on the action, with International Delight Pumpkin Pie Spice flavor also available while supplies last.

“Pumpkin Spice Latte is a sign that autumn has unofficially arrived,” said Nancy Smith, 7-Eleven vice president of fresh foods merchandising. “Warm cinnamon rolls and hot pumpkin spice lattes and brewed coffees are seasonal comfort tastes at their best, whether heading out to work in the morning, a ballgame in the evening or as an afternoon treat.”

Pie Pops Lemon Meringue Recipe

The latest craze for snackers seems to be just about anything on a stick- cake pops, brownie pops, ice cream or yogurt pops, fruit pops, and now- pie pops.

Lemon-meringue-pie-pop-recipeI have to admit, that does look scrumptious, doesn't it? This frozen take on lemon meringue pie has a graham cracker crust, creamy lemon filling and a fluffy topping. Perfect for your holiday weekend, and easy to make. The longest part is the freezing. Prep tonight and eat tomorrow! Lemon Meringue not your thing? Check out Pillsbury.com for more frozen pop ideas, and if you sign up for their emails, they'll come straight to your inbox.

Here's the recipe that got delivered to my inbox this morning from Pillsbury:

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 box (4-serving size) lemon instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 container (6 oz) Yoplait Original 99% Fat Free lemon burst yogurt
  • 7 tablespoons coarsely crushed graham crackers
  • 1/4 cup marshmallow creme
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream

In medium bowl, beat pudding mix and half-and-half with whisk 2 minutes. Beat in lemon juice and yogurt.

Pour about 1/3 cup mixture into each of 7 (5-oz) paper cups. Sprinkle each with 1 tablespoon graham crackers. Cover cups with foil; insert craft stick into center of each pop. (Or fill ice pop molds according to manufacturer’s directions.) Freeze about 6 hours or until frozen.

When ready to serve pops, in small bowl, beat marshmallow creme and 1 tablespoon of the whipping cream with electric mixer on low speed until smooth. Add remaining whipping cream, increase speed to high and beat until stiff peaks form. Remove each pop from cup. Spread top of each with about 2 tablespoons marshmallow mixture, forming meringue peaks.

**TIP**
If you can't find lemon burst yogurt, you can substitute French vanilla.

Sam's Club Pillsbury Chocolate Chunk Brownies Make Picnics Perfect!

Originally this brand new product from Pillsbury was pitched to us as a great bake sale item for those last minute bombs that children tend to drop on us, but honestly this product is so much more than that.

Most schools don't allow you to sell anything that you make at home, but the great part about these brownies, is that they come ready to cut and serve. Available exclusively at Sam's Club, the Pillsbury Chocolate Chunk Brownies are simply delish. They are coming with us to a picnic and bar-b-que tomorrow afternoon, frosted like an American Flag to celebrate the 4th of July. The brownie package also hosts six bonus Box Tops For Education, which is always a plus for moms of school aged children. (I'm already saving my stash for next year!)

Most people that know me in real life, know that I love to cook and more specifically, love to bake. I usually don't mind having to whip something up, and generally have the ingredients to pull some sort of cookie together for a ladies night, meeting, or special event. The truth of the matter is that there are just times that I don't want to make the mess, and feel that I have to sacrifice the taste and quality of home made baked goods when I buy store-bought items. It wasn't the case when I found these new Pillsbury Chocolate Chunk Brownies.

At first, we had a little bit of a problem finding them at our local Sam's. Nobody seemed to know what they were, or where they were located. The bakery area brought me to the fridge section, who then brought me to the mix aisle, who then brought me to the freezer section insisting that "it wasn't ready to serve, but it would be cool if it was", until I left exhausted- twice. The third time I returned, I returned wiser. I contacted the sponsor, and asked if we could physically check if my Sam's carried it, and sure enough they did. They gave me an item number so I could actually check myself, and then if I couldn't find it, I could give it to an associate and they could tell me where they have it.

The most important piece of info to take with you, is that these are found on the pastry tables at Sam's Club. The same place that they have the pies, near the bread.

Anyway, back to the review. The brownies themselves are scrumptious. Not super sweet, chewy and chocolate-y with chunks of chocolate throughout. Serve it plain or frosted to honor any holiday or event. This is truly perfect for the Cheerleading meeting, volunteer luncheons, birthday parties and even bar-b-ques. They are available for about $7 and change in my area, but are totally worth not having to prepare and make (and dirty oodles of pans) your own brownies, or when you're really in a jam.

Our friends at MyBlogSpark sent me a Pillsbury Chocolate Chunk Fudge Brownies gift pack that included a $25 Sam's Club gift card to use to purchase the brownies, Betty Crocker frosting, a decorating kit, and a large container for transporting the brownies.

The best part is that they have offered one lucky reader their chance to win a gift pack of their own!
