A BLACK TIE AFFAIR

A little more mystery than love, (and a ton of sexual tension!), makes this book a great and easy read. This was the first book I've read by Sherrill Bodine, but I have definitely added her to my list of favorites. The way the author describes the vintage gowns down to the last thread makes you see them in your head as if you were examining them yourself. The storyline is very nicely developed, although at the end I feel that it was a little rushed.. perhaps an extra chapter to fill in the "quick-ness" of it all, or a couple of chapters to really tackle the mystery behind the theif-- but I digress. Overall, I was very pleased with A BLACK TIE AFFAIR, and can't wait to see if there will be a sequel to this novel, how Athena's sisters develop as characters, whether the theif is ever exposed, and of course what happens between Athena and Drew.
